1 Firefighter injured and 7 displaced in New Bedford fire

New Bedford Fire department responds to a fire that left one Firefighter injured and a family without a home Sunday.
New Bedford Fire Officials tell ABC 6 a Firefighter was injured in the fire that started shortly before 3 p.m. on June 14th at 70 Aucshnet Avenue.
They say six adults and once child were displaced and no other injuries were reported.
Fire Officials say the fire appears to have started by smoke, from a cigarette bud on the floor, traveling up the wall of the home.
The fire started in a bedroom on the third floor and traveled to the attic.
The Firefighter suffered from chest pain, had difficulty breathing and was transported to the Hospital. He is in stable condition.
The incident is not suspicious and the American Red Cross is assisting the family.
