Driver flees after crashing stolen car in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A stolen car slammed into a home after crashing into another car in Providence early Thursday morning.

The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Atwells and Academy avenues.

 

The homeowner told ABC 6 News that the black Toyota crashed into his basement. That car was stolen and the driver fled the scene, according to police.

Police said the woman driving the gray car was trapped inside and officers had to pry the doors open. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
