10 additional cases of monkeypox found in Massachusetts

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed 10 additional cases of monkeypox on Thursday.

Health officials said all 10 cases were in adult males within the last week. Bringing the total number to 31 Massachusetts residents since the state’s first case was announced on May 18.

DPH said they’re working with local health officials, patients, and health care providers to find people who may have been in contact with those infected.

The CDC said that there have been 605 cases of monkeypox this year in US residents. Regularly updated case counts can be found on their website.
