10 arrested in New Bedford drug sweep.

Ten arrests were made Tuesday after New Bedford Police teamed up with the Southeastern Massachusetts Gang Task Force, and members of the state police to execute an operation using undercover officers in their efforts to target street level drug activity.

Nine of the ten arrests were made in the north end and one in the west end.

One of the ten suspects Mark Anthony Ramos had his four year old nephew with him that he left in the car alone on two separate occasions with the undercover officer throughout the transaction as him and Mr. Ramos went to different locations to purchase the heroin.

He was arrested for distribution of heroin.

DCF was notified of the situation and after an investigation, the child was reunited with his mother who had no knowledge of what her brother was doing.

The suspects arrested are:

Jorge Luis Torres age 29 of 168 Tinkham St. New Bedford

Anisha Ortiz age 37 of 32 Nye St. New Bedford

Robert Adao age 37 of 69 Alden Ave. North Dartmouth

Juan Pedroza-Ortega age 27 of 17 Bullard St. New Bedford

Steven Ourique age 39 of 113 Hathaway St. New Bedford

Ana Sanchez age 46 of 354 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford

Leroy Gross age 30 of 239 Sawyer St. New Bedford

Mark Anthony  Ramos age 26 of 74 Clark St. New Bedford

Jaron Albanese age 30 of 21 Princeton St. New Bedford

Carlos Lopez age 64 of 157 Hunter St. New Bedford

The ten suspects have been arraigned in New Bedford district court.
