10 displaced after Taunton house fire

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Taunton Fire Department said 10 people are displaced after a house fire Wednesday night.

Around 7:20 p.m., crews were sent to a residence on Fruit Street with reports of people inside.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered heavy smoke and fire coming from the third floor of the home.

No occupants or firefighters were injured.

The Taunton Emergency Management Agency and the Red Cross is assisting the 10 people displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
