$100K of heroin seized by New Bedford police

NEW BEDFORD, M.A. – New Bedford police have arrested a man from Cranston in for trafficking heroin valued at more than $100,000.
According to police, 37-year-old, Richard Aybar, of Hathaway St., Cranston, R.I., was found with 1,174 grams of heroin on his person in a wrapped package protruding from his waistband on October, 15th, 2016.
A press release on their Facebook page said at approximately 2:35 p.m. officers approached Aybar’s vehicle as it neared the intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Hathaway Boulevard.
Police say Aybar was asked to step outside the vehicle, when the heroin discovered, and subsequently seized.
