10th annual PVDFest coming to downtown Providence in September

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — PVDFest is coming to Providence late this summer, hoping to attract thousands of attendees to the event.
PVDFest will take place September 6-7, promising art, food and live performances.
“I am thrilled to share that we are hosting PVDFest again this year,” said Providence Mayor Brett P. Smiley. “We welcome everyone, from near and far, to join us in the heart of Providence this September for a showcase of creativity, culture, and community.”
The lineup of artists, performers, craft markets and food vendors is expected in the coming months.
This year’s PVDFest will mark 10 years of the event and Sunday, September 8 will be held as a rain date for the events.
“We look forward to another 10 years and beyond of festival programming Downtown and throughout our great city,” said Joe Wilson Jr., Director of Providence’s Department of Art, Culture and Tourism. “PVDFest 2024 promises to be an exciting, dynamic expression of our Creative Capital.”
Artists will be able to choose from several sites to install their works for up to one year.
Among these are outside City Hall at the corner of Washington and Dorrance Streets, the Washington Street façade of the Civic Center Garage and Empire Plaza.
