11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 at R.I. Veterans Home

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) – Friday the R.I. Veterans Home confirmed their first case of COVID-19 in a resident.

Over the weekend,the R.I. Department of Health and R.I. National Guard tested all residents not yet tested and many of the home’s staff members.

RIDOH has informed the Veterans Home that 11 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19. Additional results are still pending.

None of the 11 residents are experiencing symptoms of the virus. On the other hand, the first case from Friday did present symptoms.

Leadership and staff at the home continue to take measures to isolate the positive residents and notify family members.

Throughout Monday, the Home will continue testing all employees.
