13-year-old girl in serious condition after being struck by car in Cranston crosswalk

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Cranston police are investigating after a 13-year-old girl was struck by a car on Cranston Street Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. when the girl was walking to Hugh B. Bain Middle School.

Cranston police Major Todd Patalano said that she crossed Cranston Street in the crosswalk near the intersection with Princess Avenue when she was struck by a car.

Police said that she is still in serious condition at this time.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police as they continue their investigation.

Police are seeking any area surveillance footage that may aid in the investigation.
