14-year-old arrested in connection to deadly Providence shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department announced Tuesday that a 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection to the deadly shooting of another teen.
According to a spokesperson for Providence police, the 14-year-old boy was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in a family court.
Back on Feb. 1, 2024, Providence police responded to Legion Memorial Drive, which is where they found 17-year-old Emil Rodriguez who had been shot in the head and killed.
Rodriguez’s body was found near the entrance of Neutaconkanut Park.
No other arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
Police say the investigation is still active and ongoing.
