14-year-old transported to hospital after pedestrian hit-and-run in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said a 14-year-old male was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital after an apparent pedestrian hit-and-run on Dec. 27.

Police responded to Lincoln Street around 2 p.m. for reports of a hit-and-run involving an electric scooter where the motor vehicle operator fled the scene.

Officers found the victim, who had suffered non-life-threatening injuries to the head and arm and who was transported to the hospital.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a ski mask driving a black Buick LeSabre.

The incident is under investigation.
