16-year-old charged in New Bedford New Year’s Day hit-and-run

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that a 16-year-old from Dartmouth was charged in connection with a deadly New Year’s Day hit-and-run in New Bedford.

The juvenile was charged with negligent motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene death resulting.

The hit-and-run resulted in the death of 33-year-old Nicolassa Ventura Colaj as she was exiting a church.
