17-year-old taken to hospital following shooting in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): Cranston Police are investigating after a 17-year old boy was shot near Narragansett Boulevard on Sunday evening.
According to Col. Michael Winquist with Cranston Police, the 17-year-old was shot behind the Subway Restaurant around 6 p.m. He walked to a Shell Gas Station nearby seeking help with visible injuries.
The victim was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries from bullet wounds, according to Col. Winquist.
Shell casings were recovered from behind the subway. Police are investigating.
The victim is in stable condition and it is too early in the investigation to determine if the victim was targeted, accoridng to the chief.
