18-year-old arrested after Cranston crash

Police arrived on the scene of a car that crashed into a pole around 1 a.m. Sunday.
It happened at Plainfield Circle in Cranston.
Cranston police say five people were sent to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Some electrical wires were on the ground due to the accident, and National Grid was on scene Sunday morning working on restoring power.
Police arrested the driver, Blake Carpenter, 18, of Johnston. He was arraigned on 4 counts of driving to endanger and 1 count of reckless driving.
Carpenter was released with a court date of April 1st.
