18-year-old shot in Fall River dies from injuries, police say

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said the 18-year-old who was shot Saturday afternoon died from his injuries.

According to police, Jovanni Perez, 18, of Fall River and East Weymouth, died in the hospital after being shot multiple times.

At around 12:18 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the area of 253 Locust St. for a report of a person shot.

When responders arrived, they said they found Perez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead just before 2 p.m.

Police said that while no suspect is in custody at the time, the investigation is extremely active.
