19-year-old facing gun charges after shooting at Lyft driver, passenger

BOSTON (WLNE) — Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said a 19-year-old woman is facing gun charges after shooting at another woman and a Lyft driver earlier this month.

Court documents said Brianna Pulito, of Quincy, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, possession of ammunition without an FID card and carrying a firearm without a license.

Officials said at about 3:47 a.m. on June 2, Boston police responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Corona Street in Dorchester. Responders spoke with a Lyft driver who said they picked up a woman passenger when their car was suddenly struck by gunfire.

The Lyft driver said they heard three gunshots and then drove away quickly. Police said they observed ballistic damage to the front, driver’s-side door of the Lyft car and found three bullet casings in a driveway near where they picked up the woman passenger.

Authorities said neither the woman or the driver were injured.

The victim, another 19-year-old woman said she was in a three-week relationship with Pulito. Investigators later obtained a warrant for Pulito’s arrest and issued a statewide “be on the lookout” alert for her.

Quincy police said they pulled over Pulito on June 9 and officers found a loaded and chambered 9mm Taurus handgun along with empty magazines and stray ammunition throughout her car.

Pulito was arraigned and held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for June 15.
