2.6 magnitude earthquake happened off coast of Rhode Island
New Shoreham, RI (WLNE) – The United States Geological Survey confirms that a 2.6 magnitude earthquake happened early Sunday off the coast of Rhode Island.
The quake was centered 43 kilometers (about 27 miles) SSE of Block Island. It happened in the 3 a.m. eastern hour.
