2 arrested in killing of couple in Providence to be arraigned

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two men are expected to be arraigned Friday in connection to the killing of a couple in Providence.
On Thursday morning, authorities arrested 29-year-old Miguel Perez of Warwick and 28-year-old Tyler Freeman of Norton, Massachusetts on murder charges.
Perez is set to appear in Providence District Court. Freeman will face a judge in Massachusetts first.
Police arrested Perez at a house on Highland Avenue, off Post Road. Freeman was arrested and charged at the same time.
They both face charges including first degree murder in the shooting deaths of 29-year-old Brian Fernandez and 30-year-old Sreylakh Ros.
Police said they knew the victims and targeted them.
The couple left behind four children.
Investigators believe Perez is the same man convicted of burglary, conspiracy, weapons, and assault charges in connection to a home invasion in Providence in 2014.
Perez was sentenced to 20 years, but police think he was paroled a few years ago.
Police said more information is forthcoming after Perez faces a judge.
