2 Cranston firefighters sent to hospital after crash in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): Two Cranston firefighters were sent to the hospital after a crash on Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Wellington Avenue and Park Avenue before 5 p.m.

A Cranston Fire Department SUV and a minivan crashed, according to Sgt. David Jubinville with the Cranston Police Department.

A total of four people were hospitalized, including two firefighters in the SUV. All have minor injuries, according to Sgt. Jubinville.

The SUV hit a traffic pole, knocking it to the ground,  after it was struck by the minivan, according to Sgt. Jubinville.

While the traffic pole is being replaced, stop signs have been placed at each intersection.

The crash is still under investigation.
