2 men, including Pawtucket man, injured after 5,000 pounds of granite falls on them

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Norton police said two men were injured after about 5,000 pounds of granite fell on top of them early Friday morning.

The industrial incident happened at about 10 a.m. at Old Station Supply on East Main Street.

There, police found an employee of the business, a 53-year-old Lawrence man, and a truck driver, a 39-year-old from Pawtucket man, injured.

Two men were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Their names were not immediately released.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of the incident and will conduct an investigation.
