NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford narcotics detectives arrested two men after an investigation into a drug delivery service being operated out of the city’s south end.

According to police, Larry Pina, 32, of New Bedford and Antonion Marques, 56, also of New Bedford, are both charged with trafficking more than 18 grams of cocaine, trafficking above 36 grams of fentanyl and conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws.

Police said that on December 20, around 5 p.m., detectives searched a residence on Grinnell Street. During that search, officers found more than 29 grams of cocaine and 38 grams of fentanyl along with digital scales, packaging materials and cutting agents.

In addition, officials said $12,676 was found and seized as illicit proceeds from drug sales.

Pina was later identified as the resident at the home on Grinnell Street and both him and Marques were taken into custody after the search.

At the time of their arrest, Pina had two open cases in New Bedford District Court for possession with intent to distribute both Class A and Class B substances.
