Authorities say two people were killed and at least seven others injured when an SUV crashed through the front of a restaurant outside Boston.         The crash occurred Tuesday evening while Sweet Tomatoes Pizza on Washington Street in Newton was crowded with diners.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says the two people who died were patrons at the restaurant. There was no information on the identities of the victims.

Officials said at least three people suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.

Witnesses said the vehicle came down a hill without stopping, crossed Washington Street and crashed through the front window of the building, winding up completely inside of the restaurant.

The driver, who also sustained injuries, was not identified and there was no immediate word if charges would be filed.
