2-year-old dies after apparent drowning in Brockton pool

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said a 2-year-old died on June 8 after apparently drowning in a backyard pool.

Cruz said police responded to a home on Ardsley Circle around 9 a.m. for reports of an unresponsive 2-year-old near a backyard pool.

The child was transported to Good Samaritan hospital where they were pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

Cruz added that Massachusetts State Police and Brockton police are investigating the incident.
