20-year-old man dies in fiery single-car crash in Easton

EASTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A 20-year-old Easton man died in a serious single-car crash in the town early Tuesday morning, according to a statement from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:04 a.m. when Easton police and EMS responded to Route 138 just over the border between Raynham and Easton.

A blue Tesla that had sustained significant damage was located by arriving personnel in a wooded area approximately 20 feet from the southbound lane of the roadway.

The Tesla was on fire when first responders arrived and human remains were found in the vehicle’s back seat.

After the fire was extinguished, the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Officer took custody of the remains, according to the Bristol County DA.

An autopsy is pending at this time, and the crash does not appear to be suspicious.

Next of kin notification is ongoing, as is the investigation into the incident.
