22 people displaced after Providence fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — 22 people were forced out of their homes Monday after a fire broke out on the second floor of their triple-decker home in Providence.

The incident occurred on 2242 Pennsylvania Avenue at approximately 5:45 p.m. Monday night.  

Residents were evacuated from the building and no one was injured, but there is moderate damage to the home.

The Red Cross is providing shelter to the 11 adults and 11 children displaced from their home.

The investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing.
