22-year-old bicyclist hit by car, suffering critical injuries

A 22-year-old woman is in the hospital with critical injuries after police say she was hit by a car while riding her bike.
An 88-year-old woman was driving on Route 1 northbound in South Kingstown around noon Tuesday when she hit the bicyclist from behind, according to police.
The bicyclist, a 22-year-old woman from Cheshire, Massachusetts, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with critical injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash but don’t believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
Names have not been released.
