3 boaters saved by ‘good Samaritan’ at Oakland Beach in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Three people were rescued from the water at Oakland Beach in Warwick by a “good Samaritan” yesterday, according to the Rhode Island Coast Guard.
The incident happened in the afternoon when a sailboat overturned in the water, according to officials.
All three people on board were retrieved by an individual who came to help out.
The Coast Guard said they did not have involvement with the incident and was only notified about what happened after the individuals were rescued.
The Coast Guard is urging boaters to stay vigilant on the water and ensure they have emergency supplies on board such as life jackets, flares and emergency position indicating radios.
