3 displaced after house fire in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Pawtucket Fire Department announced three people are displaced after a house fire in Pawtucket Monday afternoon.

Officials said at approximately 3:50 p.m., they received a call for a report of a porch fire. When crews arrived on Maynard Street, they said they had trouble locating the source of the smoke.

The Pawtucket Fire Chief, John Trenteseaux, said they believe the fire started on the second floor from smoking materials, that spread from the second-story porch, up the walls and into the attic.

He further stated crews had even more trouble locating the fire because of the construction in the building.

No injuries were reported and all Pawtucket crews were dispatched to the scene out of an abundance of caution.

“The crews made an excellent stop with the heat and everything we had going against us,” Trenteseaux told ABC 6 News.

The fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal and Pawtucket Fire Department.
