3 injured after small plane crashes into Massachusetts neighborhood

STOW, Mass. (WLNE) — A small plane crashed into a rural neighborhood in Stow, Massachusetts, injuring three people Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, the three people inside the plane were all injured in the crash and taken to area hospitals by helicopter.

The plane landed just south of Minuteman Air Field, in a wooded area between two homes, just feet away from a swing-set.

Stow’s Fire Chief said one person on the plane was trapped inside and needed to be cut free by first responders.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are now investigating the crash.
