3 men arrested in I-195 stabbing, carjacking

Mass State Police have arrested three men on charges they stabbed the driver of the car they were in and threw him from the vehicle on I-195 in Swansea.

State Police say a 24-year-old Bradford man call 911 at around 1:45 a.m. Monday saying he had just been stabbed and carjacked on the highway.

When officers arrived the man told them he was driving the men back to Fall River from Rhode Island when, after an argument, he was stabbed twice and thrown from the vehicle. He said he was almost struck by a passing vehicle.

State Police put out an alert and were able to stop the 1996 Ford Crown Victoria at a convenience store in Fall River. Troopers found a knife under the floor mat in the back seat.

Police arrested three men, 21-year-old Nathaniel Pires, 23-year-old Abner Juarez, 21-year-old Kevin Fragoso, all of Fall River, on charges of receiving stolen motor vehicle, assault & battery with dangerous weapon and armed carjacking. Pires was also charged with Carry a dangerous weapon.
