Mansfield police arrested 3 suspects for allegedly stealing bikes from an LL Bean store Saturday.

According to police, two males walked into the store at about 12:30 p.m. The men grabbed two bicycles and walked them out of the store without paying. The staff at LL Bean saw the two suspects fleeing the store on the bikes they had just stolen.

Officers responded to the area of School Street, while additional calls were received reporting two men on bicycles getting into a beige/tan sedan. A witness provided a license plate number for the suspect vehicle. A short time later, a Massachusetts State Trooper stopped the vehicle on 495 South bound, prior to Exit 7.

Officers from Mansfield responded to the highway and took into custody 26-year-old Melissa Benard, of Mansfield; 40-year-old Ryan Tellier, of Taunton; and Donald Wolffe III, 42 of Brockton

All three were charged with conspiracy to commit larceny and receiving stolen property over $250.00.

Ms. Benard was additionally charged with misleading an investigator. Additionally, Tellier was also arrested on multiple outstanding warrants.

The involved car, and other vehicles previously known to be operated by Benard, have been the subject of interest for multiple shoplifting and larceny reports taken by police departments throughout southeastern Massachusetts over the past 12 months.
