South Attleboro train station resumes service

SOUTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Bay Authority has resumed commuter rail service to the South Attleboro station.

Services to Boson stopped this morning at the station for the first time since 2021.

The station was closed then due to a number of structural issues.

The station also did not meet accessibility standards.

It was partially demolished last year.

Officials said the design wok for a brand new station is already finished, with construction bids set to open soon.

The restored service is limited, with three trains running in the morning peak and four in the evening hours.
