PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Four men identified as members of the Chad Brown gang in Providence were sentenced to federal prison Tuesday.

Delacey Andrade, 31, Kendrick Johnson, 31, Keishon Johnson, 32 and Montrel Johnson, 26, were sent to prison on sentences ranging from six to 12 years.

All four had previously pleaded guilty to actives of a Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization, commonly referred to as RICO charges.

According to court documents, Chad Brown gang members and members of the East Side gang got involved in a heated rivalry in 2013 after several gang members were killed in rival shootings between the two gangs.

Prosecutors highlighted four incidents included an attempted murder of an East Side gang member in 2016, a shooting that same night of a woman’s vehicle mistaken for a rival gang members, a gun fight outside of Tomato City Pizza in June of 2017 and a drive-by-shooting in August of 2017.

Prosecutors also argued the gang members participated in illegal drug and alcohol transactions.

“Under the pretense of dispensing justice, these defendants inflicted terror and violence on the people of Providence to serve the ends of their criminal enterprise,” said U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Cunha. “Today, they faced the actual justice that their conduct richly deserves, and our community is safer for it. This prosecution tackled violence that has stemmed from generations of feuding between rival gangs in the city of Providence.”
