4 People injured in ‘disturbance’ at Taunton State Hospital

Four people were injured after a disturbance broke out at the Taunton State Hospital Sunday evening. State and local police were called to the Gross building just before 5:30 PM.
According to police a Department of Youth Services staff member called 911 saying the 4th floor unit may have been compromised, and they were locking down the rest of the units.
The disturbance came to an end, but not before three staff members and one resident were injured. They were taken to Morton hospital for minor injuries.
The cause is under investigation by DYS staff.
