4 teens, 1 adult arrested on gun charges in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said four teens and one adult were arrested on gun charges on Sept. 6.

19-year-old Juliana Paiva and four teen boys were charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, and defaced firearm serial number.

Police said detectives were patrolling Father Diaferio Village when a 16-year-old boy was spotted “acting suspiciously and displaying characteristics of being armed.”

Detectives stopped a vehicle “connected to the activity” and allegedly found a handgun with a defaced serial number and a magazine with 13 live rounds, according to Fall River police.

The five defendants inside the vehicle were arrested and charged.
