40 students, staff treated for yellow jacket stings at Massachusetts school
ASHLAND, Mass. (WLNE) — 40 students and staff members at a Massachusetts school were stung by yellow jackets on the first day of school.
According to ABC affiliate, WCVB, an underground hive was disturbed as students were getting off the buses at David Mindess School.
Dozens of students and staff were treated by the school nurse and Ashland’s fire department.
No one had a severe allergic reaction.
Professionals found the queen, and she was put in a temporary hive and relocated.
The rest of the colony then followed.
