401Gives fundraiser features 622 nonprofits, looks to raise $4 million

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The 401Gives campaign will enter its fifth year in 2024 looking to raise $4 million with the help of 622 local nonprofits.

The campaign begins Monday as the United Way of RI headquarters is converted to 401Gives Central.

The United Way’s 211 RV will make stops including the Ocean Community YMCA, Save One Soul Animal Rescue and Foster Forward.

There will hourly announcements of prize and matching gift winners, real-time donation updates, and “Rhode” games and partner visits.

Since 2020, 401Gives has raised $10.2 million, with $3,483,997 coming in 2023.
