41-year-old killed after being shot in the head in Hyannis

HYANNIS, Mass. (WLNE) — The Barnstable Police Department said that a 41-year-old Hyannis man died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Police responded to the area of North Street near Washington Street around 1 a.m. for reports of a gunshot.

The victim was found and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police added that a witness said a pickup truck left the area after the gunshot was heard, and police arrested a 36-year old Yarmouth resident, who was charged with murder and was held without bail.
