Some possible slippery spots for the Monday morning commute

An extremely strong area of High pressure centered over Maine this evening will keep us dry, but temperatures will actually hold steady overnight and may climb a degree or two late as a weak storm system enters western New England with some very light snow, freezing drizzle and plain drizzle.

A weakening area of Low pressure could create some slippery conditions for the morning commute as it really only takes a trace of moisture to create hazardous travel conditions. Some spots in northern and westernmost RI (basically west of the I-95 corridor and west of I-495 in MA) could be looking at some freezing drizzle with temperatures starting the day off in the upper 20s and low 30s. However, for the southern half of the state it would be just plain rain showers. Further to the east of RI it will remain dry. Mainly Cloudy conditions will prevail all day Monday along with highs in the low 40s.

Temperatures rise through the 40s and into the 50s on Tuesday as another rain-maker moves through in the morning and then followed by some afternoon sun. Then, it begins to trend colder again through the end of the week as yet another storm will be brewing Friday into Saturday and that system could be bringing wintry mix of rain and snow with it.
