Watch for slippery spots Saturday morning

High pressure centered over PA/NY state will give us a clear and seasonably cold night tonight as lows drop to the teens in the suburbs and low 20s in the city and near the south coast. As the High slips off the east coast tomorrow we’ll see another nice day with temperatures right about where they should be near 40°

The start of the weekend will bring the beginnings of a warming trend, however since the morning will get underway near freezing any showers that happen to move in quick enough could result in slippery conditions so keep that mind if you are travelling anywhere to the north or west. By the late morning though everyone is warming up enough, heading into the low 40s, with just plain rain that will end in time for dinner.

For Sunday we’re climbing into the upper 40s as another Low Pressure system will be heading up into the eastern Great Lakes. This causes scattered rain showers in the early morning then another round Sunday night. So in between, we’ll just see a lot of clouds. Monday brings a few more showers as highs reach into the low 50s. We then dry out for the final day of 2024 on Tuesday with highs again near 50. As we ring in the New Year at the Midnight hour I think we’ll be dry with just a cloudy sky, but rain will be approaching from the west and the early morning hours of the New Year will be wet. Any rain ends Wednesday morning with windy conditions on the way for the afternoon as we start to cool down. Then, very cold air returns for Thursday depsite a good deal of sunshine.
