5 charged after shooting ducks in Narragansett Bay, DEM says

JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE)- The DEM’s Department of Law Enforcement arrested five people that were shooting ducks in Narragansett Bay on Saturday morning.

An officer patrolling in Jamestown saw the hunters shoot several ducks while onboard their boat in the bay. He then called for back-up.

He and the responding officers set up surveillance and watched the hunters shoot at several groups of ducks and geese.

All five shooters were charged with several criminal and civil hunting violations.

Environmental police seized their guns as well as the birds.

The birds were donated to the Center for Southeast Asians in Providence.
