5 hospitalized after pickup truck rolls over in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said five people were taken the the hospital after the truck they were in rolled over.

According to police, at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, they responded to 1600 Hope Rd. for a rollover crash with two occupants trapped inside.

When they arrived, police said they found the Ford Ranger pickup truck on its roof with two people stuck inside and three people on the grass nearby.

Officials said three people were sitting in the cab of the truck, one of which was thrown from inside, and two were sitting in the open bed, who were all ejected into the nearby grass.

All five people, who are unidentified at this time were taken to area hospitals for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
