7 term U.S. Rep. William Delahunt dies at 82

QUINCY, Mass. (WLNE) — Regan Communications Chairman George Regan, Jr., announced the memorial services scheduled to honor former U.S. Congressmen William “Bill” Delahunt.

Rep. Delahunt, 82, died yesterday in his Quincy home surrounded by his family.

He served seven terms as a notable U.S. Representative and longtime Norfolk County District Attorney.

A wake for Rep. Delahunt will be held at the historic United First Parish Church in Quincy from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 5.

United First Parish Church, located at 1306 Hancock St., is known worldwide as the Church of the Presidents.

Former U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams attended the church and are buried beneath it in a family crypt.

A funeral will follow at High Mass at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6, at Saint Gregory Parish, 2215 Dorchester Ave.

Father Jack Ahern will lead High Mass in prayer.
