8 men arrested for crimes against children

Rhode Island State Police announced Thursday they have arrested 8 men for crimes allegedly exploiting children.
The arrests made were a result of an investigation conducted by the Rhode Island State Police after they received a cyber tip on March 23rd regarding a sexual assault on a 14 year old girl.
The victim was located in New Jersey after collaborative efforts from the FBI, Homeland Security, RI State Police, and Franklin Township New Jersey Police.
Paul Monteiro, 30, was arrested at the time the victim was located and is being charged federally with human trafficking. His case is being handled by Providence office of the US Attorney.
That arrest lead to a subsequent investigation in which 8 men were charge with crimes ranging from sex trafficking of a minor to indecent solicitation of a child.
