89-year-old man dies after being struck by vehicle in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Mass. (WLNE) — The Franklin Police Department said an elderly man has died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Oct. 6.

The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim as 89-year-old Ugo Ciannavei, of Franklin.

Police and firefighters responded to Pleasant Street around 8:00 a.m. for reports of a serious crash involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, police said officers found one person with “serious injuries” who had been struck by a vehicle.

First responders performed life saving measures on the pedestrian.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
