89-year-old man killed after tree falls on trailer during storm in Massachusetts

HANOVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced the death of an 89-year-old man after a tree fell onto a trailer with him inside during a storm on Monday.

According to the DA’s office, Robert Horky, 89, of Hingham, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at an area hospital after a tree fell on the trailer he was inside of.

Officials said at 9:47 a.m., Monday, Hanover police responded to a 911 call reporting a large tree that fell outside the workplace at 99 Industrial Way. The caller reported that the tree fell on a small travel trailer and a man was trapped inside.

Hanover police and firefighters were able to remove the man, identified as Horky, from the trailer. They said he sustained severe head trauma and was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Hanover police, Massachusetts State Police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
