95 protester found guilty

One of five protestors arrested for blocking traffic on 95 in Providence in November was found guilty of disorderly conduct and obstructing a highway.

25–year–old Tess Brown-Lavoie of Providence took part in a massive protest on 95 north and south in Providence.

Protesters took to the highway angry about white officers involved with the deaths of two black men in Missouri and New York.  Police say Lavoie sat down on 95 and refused to leave.

She was sentenced to 6 months probation, 100 hours community service and ordered to pay a 500 dollar fine. Three others face trial in March.
