Route 10 to Route 6 flyover ramp opens officially opens, two years ahead of schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)-State and local leaders gathered on Friday morning to officially open the Route 10 to Route 6 flyover ramp.
The ramp’s opening came two years ahead of the expected date, and is one of the key aspects of the state’s $410 million dollar Route 6 and 10 project.
“All Rhode Islanders can benefit from reduced traffic, safer roads, and an easier commute. I want to thank RIDOT, our Congressional delegation, and all those involved for investing in our roads and bridges and for bringing this project to completion ahead of schedule,” said Gov. Dan McKee.
The opening ceremony took place on the new ramp and ended with a procession of vehicles driving over the bridge for the first time.
The Route 6 and 10 project is scheduled to be completed in Fall of 2023.
