The suspect in a domestic incident and shooting was arraigned Thursday, and is also involved in another shooting stemming from a road rage incident according to police.
All of this happened in the span of just a few hours Wednesday evening.
Police say 22-year-old Alton Oliveira’s violent crime spree in Central Falls and Pawtucket began with a fight with his ex-girlfriend where he is accused of pistol-whipping then choking her unconscious before fleeing the scene.
He then returned to the home hours later with a U-Haul truck looking to take his stuff from the apartment when he was confronted by the victim’s mother. At that point he threatened her with a gun and shot her twice in the ankles.
Oliveira was arraigned on seven charges Thursday including domestic assault with a deadly weapon,
domestic strangulation and carrying without a license.
Police allege Oliveira was involved in a road rage incident after leaving the scene of the
first shooting. He is accused of exchanging gunfire with another car before ditching the
U-Haul and running on foot. Charges in that matter are expected in the coming days.
Oliveira is being held on $75,000 surety bond for the two incidents.
