March Madness in the Girls Open Basketball Tournament for the Sweet Sixteen

The Girls State Open Basketball Tournament began for the Sweet Sixteen.

At RIC, LaSalle beat Narragansett, 68 to 26.  Portsmouth downed Barrington 63 to 49.  Rams and Patriots will meet Saturday at 6:00 at Alumni Hall.

At Roger Williams, Moses Brown beats Chariho, 56 to 28.  Coventry took down Mt. St. Charles, 62 to 40.  The Quarkers and Oakers play Saturday at 2:00 at Alumni Hall.

At CCRI in Warwick, South Kingtown’s Megan Bodziony hit a shot with five seconds left to beat Juanita Sanchez, 53 to 51.  Bay View beat East Greenwich, 45 to 35.  The Rebels face the Bengals on Saturday at noon at PC.

At East Providence, St. Ray’s overcomes Middletown, 58 to 43.  Cranston East defeated Cumberland, 52 to 35.  The Thunderbolts face the Saints on Saturday at 4:00 at Alumni Hall.
